Channel is proud to continue it’s support of the Children of the Mekong charitable organisation.
This year, we are supporting their education centre in Samrong with the Big Give initiative. The centre gives access to 65 children to secondary education in rural Cambodia (Learn more about Samrong Education Centre).
“Children of the Mekong was founded in 1958, and supports vulnerable children in Southeast Asia by providing holistic education. In 2021, our work impacted 23,400 sponsored children and 60,000 supported children were able to gain access to education, find employment, and forge their own paths moving forward.
Samrong Education Centre helps 80 Cambodian children achieve secondary education amidst restrictions from low-income backgrounds and sparse schooling options. The centre provides boarding houses, tuition, extracurricular activities, and various types of material support. The centre prepares children for the national baccalaureate, crucial for progression to university or vocational schools. Beyond classroom learning, our staff and volunteers also organise extracurricular arts and sports activities for children to participate in, granting them a well-rounded education that promotes intellectual, interpersonal, professional, and moral development.”
